dad and i were on the road the majority of today. i believe our only stop (besides a vista point along the 1–highway 1, that is) was in solvang. i loved the view along the 1, but will be perfectly content to take the 101 back to cambria and hearst castle.
what was probably only 90 miles took us about 3 hours at an average speed of 30mph, traversing what seemed like no less than 8 national forests, doing switchbacks the entire time, enjoying views of the pacific amid the mountain cliff roads we were traveling.
enjoy the view from the road…and the stop along the way.
