today on espn radio, colin cowherd was ranting about some subject–grocery stores, i think–in which men should be more involved. i know, i did not see the connection to sports either. but what did catch my attention is this:
if you’re a guy and you like sports, there are several things you’ve just got to do.
you’ve just got to go to a game at fenway park.
you’ve just got to go to the kentucky derby.
you’ve just got to go to an SEC football game.

who knows what he said after that because he completely lost me back at the SEC football game, recalling games i have attended and relishing in those memories. i echoed colin’s sentiments with a verbal “yeah,” my rather adult version of “duh” (you know, like this is a given…a no-brainer).
and what i noticed in my rear-view mirror was a huge smile that crossed my face as i, once again, felt that southern pride welling up within me…simply celebrating my heritage and identifying with my culture.
