prophetess…or simply stylish?

i vote stylish for sure!

daph, you have such unique style that is all your own…
and you can totally pull off the tunic, despite ryan’s “prophetess” comment or laughter!

still, surveys indicate that southerners as a whole remain less educated, more religious, more conservative and more predominantly old-stock American than the population of the other regions.
~American Civilization: An Introduction, David Mauk and John Oakland

i read this description of the south in my american culture book.
i am not sure how you would take this…
or how you would take this as a southerner reading what sets your region apart from the others.

according to surveys, these statements are true…but they don’t necessarily present a favorable impression of the south. maybe this is a case of the truth hurting…or being offensive. i think the part that is most offensive is that the “less educated” description is the first mentioned…
i mean, couldn’t they have couched it in the middle or preceded the comment by more of a positive one?

i guess i must accept the description as truth…even if it hurts, or i find it offensive…
and not take it so personally.
